ERVESA SMP® (E495 Sorbitan Mono Palmitate) is a lipophilic emulsifier composed of partial esters of sorbitol and its anhydrides with vegetable-based fatty acids. It may contain minor amounts of free fatty acids, sorbitol, and isosorbide esters. Due to its strong lipophilic character, it is commonly used in combination with polysorbates to create stable and well-balanced emulsifier systems, particularly in food applications involving fats and oils.
