Product Description

ERVESA SML® (E493 Sorbitan Mono Laurate) is a lipophilic emulsifier composed of partial esters of sorbitol and its anhydrides with vegetable-based lauric acid. It may contain minor amounts of free fatty acids, sorbitol, and isosorbide esters. Owing to its lipophilic nature, it is commonly used together with polysorbates to form balanced emulsifier systems and to influence fat and oil crystallization behavior in a wide range of food applications.
